This notice describes the data practices visible in PharmaSignal’s current application. Questions and deletion requests may be sent to salmasi2@illinois.edu.

Browsing and usage information

You can browse public research without an account. The landing page uses Google Analytics only after you accept optional analytics. Before a choice, and after rejection, the site blocks analytics collection. Advertising consent remains denied. Events sent from the platform can include the tab opened, a company or drug viewed, an article selected, and save, share, or alert interactions. Those events may reveal research interests. Google processes technical information associated with analytics requests under its own service policies. External scripts, fonts, and directly requested source records also receive the technical information needed to serve a request.

Use to accept or reject analytics at any time. Your choice is stored in this browser for 180 days. Rejecting analytics stops future collection and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site; it does not delete data already received by Google. Essential account and display functions remain available.

Your browser stores the selected theme and content size locally. Authentication can also maintain a signed-in session. Browser controls can clear local storage; clearing it does not delete account records held by the service.

Accounts, saved records, and alerts

Optional accounts use Firebase Authentication through email/password or Google sign-in. Account information includes an identifier and email address; a display name can be available through the sign-in provider. Firebase handles password authentication. Saved research items, review timestamps, and alert dismissals are stored in Cloud Firestore under the account. In-app alerts use those saved interests and review states.

The inspected application uses access rules intended to restrict account records to their owner. This notice does not represent an independent security audit. Do not place patient information, confidential client material, or other sensitive information in an issue report.

Providers, retention, and choices

The current site uses Google/Firebase hosting, authentication, storage, and analytics services. Requests for regulatory records, clinical-trial details, chemical information, and third-party resources may go directly to their providers. Following an external link is subject to the destination’s policies.

You can remove individual saved items through the interface. The application does not provide a complete self-service account-deletion process or an automatic account-data expiry schedule. Contact the owner to request access, correction, or deletion; identity verification may be needed. Clearing a saved item does not necessarily remove related monitoring records or provider logs. Hosting and other provider log-retention periods have not been confirmed for this notice.

The project owner confirmed the Google Analytics settings on October 9, 2026: event-data retention is two months, user-data retention is fourteen months, and resetting user-data retention on new activity is disabled. These controls apply to the detailed data covered by Google’s retention settings; they do not set the retention period for standard aggregated reports or for account records stored in Firebase. Google applies retention deletion through its scheduled processing. See Google’s data-retention explanation.

Use browser privacy controls to limit storage and third-party requests. For details about Google’s processing, see Google’s Privacy Policy. Requests concerning applicable privacy rights can be directed to the contact above.
